Copper Alloys

Copper Alloys Quality Standards

National Bronze & Metals is an industry-leading manufacturer of copper alloys, such as: beryllium copper, oxygen free, and a wide variety of mixed copper alloys. To guarantee quality in our manufactured alloys, we have earned ISO 9001-2008 accreditation at our foundry in Lorain, Ohio, and our warehouse in Houston, Texas. In addition, our inventory is manufactured to ASTM specifications, plus U.S. federal, military and aerospace specifications as applicable to select alloys. Our entire stock of beryllium copper and other copper alloys can be custom manufactured and supplied to your specific size and shape needs whether it be bars, tubes, sheets or wires.

Manufacturing Copper

Over the years, NBM has expanded and grown its range of specialty copper alloys. NBM carries Wrought Alloys and Continuous Cast, Centrifugal Cast and Sand Cast Alloys. Our computer aided manufacturing processes have been developed to produce exceptional, consistent quality in every copper alloy we produce.

Industrial Uses for Copper Alloys

It has high thermal conductivity combined with excellent hardness and high temperature strength causing it to be chosen with increasing frequency for applications requiring a combination of high electrical conductivity and superior mechanical strength. It is its strength that makes this alloy a great choice when you require wear and corrosion resistance, and excellent bearing properties.

Beryllium Copper
BERYLLIUM COPPER

Also know as spring copper or beryllium bronze, beryllium copper is the highest strength of any copper based alloys on the market. The commercial grades of beryllium copper alloys contain from 0.4 to 2.0 % beryllium.

Oxygen Free Copper
OXYGEN FREE COPPER

Oxygen-Free copper is produced by the direct conversion of selected refined cathodes and castings under carefully controlled anaerobic conditions to prevent any contamination of pure oxygen-free metal during processing.

Cadmium Copper
CADMIUM COPPER

When cadmium is added to copper the material becomes more resistant to softening at elevated temperatures. The more cadmium that is added the more heat resistant the material becomes.

Leaded Copper
LEADED COPPER

Lead is added to many copper alloys, making all types of free machining alloys. Lead does not affect the structure and properties of copper because it is practically insoluble in solid copper.

Chromium Copper
CHROMIUM COPPER

Chromium copper is a heat treatable, corrosion resistant alloy which combines high electrical conductivity with high strength.

Copper Nickel
COPPER NICKEL

Copper nickel alloys are very corrosion resistant to sea water as well as thermally stable. These alloys usually have additions of iron, chromium, niobium, and or manganese to improve the strength and corrosion resistance.
