In memory of Joseph Briggeman

Earlier this year, on July 21, 2007, our industry felt the loss of a very dear friend - Mr. Joseph J. Briggeman passed away at the age of 87. Joe retired in 1999 from National Bronze & Metals, Inc. (NBM) after eleven years of service in Sales. Joe, his wife Nancy, and their family has, and always will be considered very dear members of the NBM family. Prior to joining NBM, Joe had already built a very successful career of well over fifty years in the brass, bronze, and copper business with companies such as Chicago Extruded, Scovill, Century Brass, and JM Tull. He leaves us having notably impacted our industry, and carries with him the deepest respect from those who had the pleasure of working beside him. His passing was deeply felt by NBM and many others throughout our industry. His son Stephen Briggeman has followed in similar footsteps as manager of the Knoxville,TN office of Houston based Triple S Steel.
Joe proudly served our country during WWII with the U.S. Navy as a pilot in the South Pacific and was a lifetime member of the Addison, IL VFW. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Briggeman; their children, Denise (Tom) Cihlar, Christie (Craig) Gruen, and Stephen (Melissa) Briggeman; their grandchildren, Stacey Cihlar, Andrew Cihlar, Ryan Welch, Taylor Welch, Joseph Briggeman and Jacob Briggeman; nieces and nephews, Pamela Crawford, Robert Williams, and John Williams.
