70-30 Cartridge Brass must be certified "fired and popped", contain no non-brass primers, foreign material, bullets, iron, or lead. Brokered cartridge brass will not be accepted.
This material should consist of hard brass pipe and solids free of plated, painted, iron, non-metallics, solder and pipes with cast brass connections. Material must be sound, clean, and free of sediment and moisture. Hard Brass shall be free of lined and unlined standard red car boxes, red brass, and semi-red brass.
This material should consist of red brass scrap, valves, machinery bearings, and free of plated and soldered materials or cast brass connections. Sprinkler heads are prohibited as they normally contain glass water vials and pose a safety risk if charged in our furnaces. Must be free of semi-red brass castings; railroad car boxes; cocks and faucets; closed water meters; aluminum, silicon, and manganese bronzes. Chrome plated material is 100% prohibited. Material must be sound, clean, and free of sediment, moisture, iron, non-metallics, and condenser tubes. The presence of silicon valve stems will subject the metal to immediate rejection.
